Last week our marketing man spent a week in the South Asian country, Singapore. This sovereign state is a place that is growing almost in front of your eyes, with buildings growing into the sky and the subway system sprawling further and further.
Clearly in a city where space is limited the machinery working needs to be compact, powerful and offer precise movements. Therefore it was no surprise to see Yanmar ViO excavators working right across the city.
The machine ability to work right up against obstacles such as walls and other machinery, whilst still rotating within the width of the tracks was often on show. In fact on more than one occasion a Yanmar ViO excavator was hard at work with other machines with a conventional tail swing were parked up.
In the UK as well we are seeing the popularity of the zero tail swing excavators rising. This is expected to grow further with the introduction of the new and improved ViO50-6 and ViO57-6. It's not just urban areas where these machines are found working of course. You may remember this story from last year where a ViO57 was working in forestry, an area where the strong lifting capacities of Yanmar are key.
Yanmar, the originator of the zero tail swing concept are putting a lot of work into this range and the new -6 machines show real improvements for both the hire and owner operator markets.
