VICTAS or ViO Crawler Technology for Advanced Stability gives machines in the zero tail swing range improved stability and lifting strength, without the need for an expanding undercarriage.
It works by combining the following:
1. Enlarging the bearing surface through the track width.
Yanmar enlarge the tracks width in order to increase the ground bearing surface, this also lowers the machines centre of gravity. Thus remaining compact, stable and with strong lifting capacity.
The more conventional approach of simply adding a counterweight will drastically affect the compactness of the machines, especially on a zero tail swing model.
2. Enlarging the bearing surface thanks to the track shape.
Yanmar also use asymmetric or offset tracks, which pushes the bearing point further towards the outside of the machine (as shown in the image) The conventional more central bearing point makes the centre of gravity higher and the machine less stable when lifting.
Finally the pitches used in the tracks are shorter than many others. As the double flanged Yanmar rollers move over these pitches the operator will find that; crawler damage, vibration, noise and ground damage all are reduced.
