This week at A&Y we have been hosting Yanmar service training for a number of our dealers from the UK. The course, ran by Yanmar's Area After Sales manager for the UK and Ireland, Mr Jeroen Jacobs lasted for two days and combined both theory and practical elements.
After a brief introduction into Yanmar, the range of machines was outlined including the layouts of the machines and the basic components you will find on the excavators.
Then followed more specifics on unique features to Yanmar construction machines, VIPPS and VICTAS being prime examples. On the topic of VIPPS and flow sharing the trainees went to learn about the hydraulic system as well as the electrical systems present.
Day 2 was centered around the Yanmar engines and in particular the latest releases and Tier 4, followed by training on how to best use the screen monitors, for example daily maintenance operations and how to program interventions.
Alongside the training each attendee was given a copy of the Service Data Book which is the service bible when it comes to working on Yanmar machines. In fact Phil Humprey of A&Y said the use of the service book made working on the machines an easier task.
Overall it was a successful week with attendants from both courses commenting how much they'd picked up and felt more confident when it comes to working on Yanmar machines.
