You may have seen that during Plantworx we had a Cormidi tracked dumper working on our demonstration area. This was a brand new machine for the UK market, from the Cormidi CMF range and received plenty of very positive reviews from those that operated it during the show.
The new Cormidi CMF range offers you huge versatility in any job, with not just the standard function of a tracked dumper, but a further range of attachments to make this machine great value for money. In fact the model we showed, the 1500 has over one hundred possible configurations. Many of the attachments can be swapped over, without the use of tools in just 2 minutes.
As with all the Cormidi carriers, the undercarriage is a key selling point. It is incredibly robust. It really has been created for the toughest jobs. The rubber track’s special design is optimised for continuous performance with great traction and a long life with minimal wear. The rocking rollers allow for constant ground contact, giving a more stable ride.
Another unique feature on this machine is the most efficient Hi-Flow system available on the market. Two variable piston pumps with automatic constant power means the machine always has maximum power available without a stalled engine.
Below is just a few more of the key benefits. Please contact us for further information, including brochures and the opportunity to demo this machine. 01789 414525 / email@example.com
Last week we spend a day with Tierra Designs, an award winning garden design and build company from Hertfordshire. They currently run four machines from A&Y, an older Yanmar SV08 and Cormidi C50, alongside a more recently purchased Cormidi C85 and a brand new Yanmar ViO12, one of only four currently in the UK.
The site they are working on, located just outside the idyllic town of Berkhamsted, saw all 4 of these machines being utilised as they dug the footings for a new wall and patio in a garden.
You may recognise the C85 as this was the versatile tracked dumper sold with a cement mixer attachment as well as the standard high tip skip. In fact a simple change over saw the C85 alter from a tracked dumper to a tracked cement mixer part way through the day! Saving the guys all important time and money.
It was great to see the ViO12 being worked hard and also to hear so much positive feedback on this excavator.
Features such as the expanding undercarriage and zero tail swing allows for the machine to work in tight spots, in this instance up against a wall, safe in the knowledge that the rear of the machine wont catch on any obstacles.
The expanding undercarriage was key on this jobsite for more than just that reason. The ground was difficult to work on but the added stability of the ViO12 still meant work could be completed at a good speed. The ViO12 has a long arm fitted as standard, however due to the strong stability of this machine side and front lifting capacities remain high.
Whilst having a chat with Jules, one of the owners and operators on the day he told us that "with the added power and capabilities of the ViO12 we treat it more like a 1 and half tonne digger, but with all the compactness of a 1 tonner. Perfect for the work we do"
The three cylinder Yanmar engine does give a surprising amount of power to the ViO12 and it seems that this is being fully utilised by Tierra Designs.
As you may know the ViO12 is operated by joystick or servo controls, one of the main features of this new micro excavator. Again we received multiple positive comments about this, particularly how it makes the operating position far more comfortable, especially during long shifts.

Last week we took delivery of a number of new Cormidi C6.50 tracked dumpers, these machines have proved incredibly popular in the last few days with less than half of the original amount remaining. As you may notice they have had a slight change of look in terms of decals, but rest assured this hasn't affected the performance.
The C6.50 is the smallest of the 3 x Cormidi models we currently offer, with a weight of 500kg, length of 1550 mm and width of 700 mm. Making this carrier stable yet still able to work in tight spaces.
Another benefit to these dumpers are they come hi-tip as standard, meaning tipping over skip sides or obstacles such as walls isn't a problem. The C6.50 has a tipping height of 1.43 metres.
Offering fully hydrostatic drive, the Cormidi C6.50 is perfect for all your earthmoving and contracting purposes - making transport of loose material from A to B much quicker and easier. Ideal for smaller landscapers or rural landowners and farmers.
With a top travelling speed of 2.5 mph, the carrier moves over uneven or wet ground even when fully loaded. This is aided by the innovative 'rocking rollers', where the middle two rollers along the bottom oscillate allowing the tracks to ride over stones or brick whilst still keeping the load stable.
In fact the whole undercarriage is custom built for a tracked dumper, it is angled to help climbing and rather than other dumpers that use excavator undercarriages its rides over the obstacles rather than climb up to the midway tipping point then rocking forward. The below video shows in slow motion how easily the Cormidi travels over a rock.
Back in the summer we sold the first remote controlled Cormidi C85 tracked dumper into the UK. This machine, complete with self loading shovel was sold to Chase Trails.
Chase Trails is a local volunteer group of experts, set up over 10 years ago in partnership with the Forestry Commission to build and maintain the mountain bike trails on Cannock Chase, in Staffordshire.
After some training the volunteers were straight to work and the Cormidi became an instant hit. The following features made the work an easier task:
You can view a video of the machine being tested in our yard by clicking the below link
Last week during a chat to one of the members of the build team who has been putting the remote controlled Cormidi through it's paces we received the following piece of feedback;
"it's the best tool we've ever acquired! In the past, we've occasionally run a 'big build day' where we get 30-40+ volunteers turn up for a day and help out - now we're doing a similar amount of work with just a couple of people each weekend - so it's definitely been a worthwhile investment."
Fantastic that this machine has been so popular already, with many more jobs and trail improvements to come it will continue to impress.
Below are some more images of the C85 in action building the trails, if you would like any further information on this then please contact one of the team on: email@example.com
Last Month we sold more Yanmar C50 tracked dumpers to National Tracked Dumper Hire.
NTDH specialise in the hire of tracked dumpers and carriers, with many depots across the UK including; Wembley, Manchester, Cardiff and Birmingham.
These recent purchases are in addition to the ones taken in the Summer. These dumpers are the new C50R-5 models, with a 180° swivel tip skip, the C50R-5 also comes with a standard straight tip as well.
You many remember that the C50's underwent a series of upgrades at the end of 2015, which has vastly improved the machine, as mirroed by an upturn in interest and sales in 2016.
Some of the new and popular features are outlined as follows:
Very Low Ground Pressure
Being equipped with one tof the largest track gauages on the market gives these dumpers a large ground surface. 32 rollers on the ground evenly distribute the weight and fully loaded the machines ground pressure is as low as 32.4 kPA. This improves the all terrain capabilities and means the C50R-5 can work in the worst ground condiitons. So much so Yanmar have dubbed this machine as 'light-foot'.
The visbility on the new models has been improved through; wider windows, a re designed right corner of the machine and 3 rear view mirrors. Hence making the surrounding work areas more visibile and safer.
Reversible Travel Levers and Seat
Both the drivers seat and the travel levers are mounted on a 180° turning pivot, meaning the operator is always facing the direction of travel. Apart from the obvious safety benefits this gives it also saves time due to less manoeuvring required, which in turn means less impact on the ground as constant turns of the machine aren't required.
New Cab Design
Now with a large ROPS, FOPS & TOPS standard cab that has improved steps and rails for easier entry and exit. Inside the cab the seat has be chaged to a more comfortable model, as well as all the istruments being positioned on the far side of the cabin. This is so all the switches and the LCD screen are together improving the visibility and ease for the operator.
The latest Yanmar common rail engine equipped with a particle filter is found in these machines. It gives a high engine output whilst still falling in line with the latest engine regulations.
The engine also comes with anti-stall technology, which controls the primary side pilot pressure when travelling up banks and in second speed so stalls can be prevented.
The Cormidi C85 is a 810 mm wide, 800kg tracked carrier, complete with a high tip height of 1.5 meters and oscillating rocking rollers. This model was released in 2014 as improved version of the C80. Areas of improvement include; Engine, Electric System, Undercarriage, Hydraulic System, Design and Performance.
For example the C85 has a 15% larger skip capacity, 100mm more ground contact, 20% more speed and a reduction in vibration by 70% when compared to previous models.
As well as the standard skip on the Cormidi there is also the option to add on a number of attachments.
We recently had a C85 Hi tip with self loading shovel and concrete mixer attachment in the yard, other factory fitted options include crane and forks. All driven by a hydrostatic transmission.
Some key aspects of this machine are outlined below. Currently in stock, if you'd like more information on any of the Cormidi range then take a look at the specific page HERE, where you will find some specifications as well as the downloadable brochure or alternatively Contact Us.
The Cormidi C6.60 is a high performance and highly reliable tracked carrier.
Measuring just 695mm wide it passes through standard doors, additionally with the longest undercarriage (1320mm) and highest discharge height (1675mm at pivot) in it's class its not hard to see why this machine proves incredibly popular on all manner of job sites.
The C6.60, with a Yanmar LA electric start engine (7.5hp) and top travelling speed of 2.3mph moves over uneven or wet ground even when fully loaded. These tracked dumpers have the perfect combination of speed and power thanks to a hydrostatic transmission. This is based on pumps with axial pistons controlling variable flow. This allows the Cormidi to work comfortably at its top speed.
This is aided by the innovative 'rocking rollers', where the middle two rollers along the bottom oscillate allowing the tracks to ride over stones or brick whilst still keeping the load stable and giving the operator a safe ride.
This tracked dumper often goes hand in hand with a mini excavator, Yanmar's SV08 for example, therefore it is important a machine like this can be easily transported. Four tie down points make for safe trailer transportation, you will find four lifting points too on the C6.60 which are very useful.
You will also see that the working levers which control tracking, speed and tipping mechanism are fully protected against any possible damages caused by an excavator when loading.
Currently in stock and ready for orders, if you would like any more information on these machines then please contact our team on firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01789 414525
Complementing the Yanmar mini-excavators, are a range of compact dumpers. These machines are typically used to carry material, earth, on all kinds of terrain and are proving more and more popular.
Equipped with rubber tracks and characterised by very low ground pressure, they are particularly suitable for working on soft, uneven or sensitive land. There are 4 models of Yanmar tracked dumper available; the smallest C12, mid range C30 and largest C50 which also does come with an optional rotating skip, the C50TV.
The C12 has the option to tip on each of the 3 sides, making it a very versatile machine ideal when working on tight job sites and alongside trenches.
Safe travel is essential when operating tracked dumpers, the C30 and C50's all have a 180° rotating seat. Therefore the operator can always face in the direction of travel, again this helps when working on smaller sites and softer ground when machine rotation isn't possible.
Powerful Yanmar engines give these carriers strong traction and the ability to climb and work on steep gradients. In fact the C50's are equipped with the very latest Yanmar engine technologies which reaches EU Stage V requirements.
The below table will give you further information on these dumpers, you can also see a specific page dedicated to them by clicking the link here - Yanmar Tracked Dumpers
Ace Machinery Ltd, A&Y’s Yanmar construction dealer for Ireland have recently sold the first of the new C50R-5TV tracked carriers with turning skip.
This compact 6 tonne carrier, with a payload of 3.5 tonne and Yanmar’s new EU Stage 5 ready engine, has been purchased by Longford Hire Centre.
As a comprehensive provider of plant and equipment to the construction sector in Ireland; Longford Hire Centre's requirements for a tracked carrier of compact dimensions , unsurpassed maneuverability and low ground pressure were ideally met by the C50R which has been dubbed the "lightfoot" by those in Yanmar.
This benefit is in addition to the increased functionality the rotating skip gives the machine. Having a turning skip will mean users have 180° dumping capabilities, perfect for work in tight job sites and alongside trenches.
Further changes in the C50R-5TV have seen the cab size increase. As the air suspension seat and levers swivel, allowing the operator to always be facing in the direction of movement, space and comfort are key. This swivel feature leads to a safer working environment, reduced damage to the work site and higher productivity, as less turns are required. The cab has also been fitted with a new improved switch layout as well as the new Yanmar LED display, which displays crucial machine information, including the automatic DPF maintenance status.
Andrew Kennedy of Ace Machinery is hoping the deal would be the first of a number of C50 carriers coming into Ireland.
