Just like the ViO57-6 earlier this month, we now have stock of the brand new updated and upgraded version of the 5 tonne, ViO50-6.
Today we will highlight some key difference between the ViO50-6 and its previous models.
Of course a number of elements that made the ViO50 so popular remain on this version. Along with the VIPPS system, you will still find the following present on these models:

If a picture is worth a thousand words then I wonder how much a video is worth...
Anyway whilst we ponder that take a look at the new video from Ammann, which gives further insight into their Ammann Compaction Expert, or ACE system.
This particular clip shows the differences between ACE Pro and ACE Force, showing how their intuitive control of both frequency and amplitude gives the best compaction levels around, all this through automatic adjustments. First introduced to the market in 1998, Ammann are seen to be at the forefront when it comes to compaction technology, offering many features that rivals simply do not have.

This week another Yanmar 8 tonne excavator has been sold into Scotland, through dealers for the central belt and borders, Relentless Plant Sales.
Sales Manager Eddie Murray told us how he was hoping it would be one of many ViO80 Yanmars heading to their area as the popularity of the machines grow since Relentless took over as dealers earlier this year.
The ViO80 truly does offer users the performance of a larger excavator, whilst still keeping the benefits of a compact excavator, namely Yanmar's market leading zero tail swing design.
The latest Yanmar common rail engine powers the machine, meeting latest engine emission rules whilst still having an output of over 56 HP. This engine will aid in the reduction of fuel costs, as will the auto idle and eco-mode functions coming as standard.
A big push from Yanmar is to reduce the overall cost of machine ownership and features such as these certainly do that.
Further features as standard include; long arm, proportional control PTO lever with hold button, automatic 2 speed control, overload warning device, digital control monitor and adjustable proportional control all give users of the ViO80 the edge when it comes to both power and precision work.
For example the ViO80 allows for real smooth and controlled use when using accessories . As it's equipped with two auxiliary circuits, both of which are operated with proportional joysticks and are adjustable using potentiometers. This proportional controls adapts the flow of oil to the needs of each attachment and also means the user hasn't got to reach across and use the same joystick for accessory usage.
The guys at Relentless also stated how the cab had been a big selling point on the machine. The newer larger cab design is mounted on an innovative anti vibration block, which also reduces the sound levels reaching the operator. Comfort is high inside the cab with the air suspension seat and improved wrist supports, allowing the operator to find the most comfortable work position to suit their individual needs.
Recently our website www.aandygroup.com has gone through some updates to make it more up to date and user friendly. Allowing key information on machines to be found faster and having more downloads available to all users.
As previously reported Ammann have been creating more modern versions of their machine brochures. These contain all the key details for each machine, along with a higher quality of picture and better, more clear layout.
These new brochures are now on the website for all the Vibration Plates, Trench Rollers, Walk Behind Roller and Heavy ARX rollers.
On the Yanmar side they have also been improving the brochures, two examples of the new brochure would be the new ViO57-6 and C50 tracked dumpers.
We think all the latest brochures are a vast improvement on previous versions and will be letting you know as and when these are further rolled out across the ranges.
Website users can now use the search bar located at the top of the page to quickly search the entire website. For example a search for a machine you are interested in, SV18 in this case will show you the results of the search almost instantly. Within this results page you can break down between the actual machines own page and any news/blog article it has appeared in. A clickable link is provided to which ever item you wish to proceed too.
Our social profile has increased too, alongside the A&Y Facebook and Twitter accounts we now have an Instagram account. Here you will find a series of working images from machines across the UK and also shows we are attending. So if you have an account check us out and give us a follow instagram.com/aandygroup
The Yanmar line up of true zero tailswing excavators (ViO range) consists of eight models ranging from 1220 kg to 8065 kg.
These machines come equipped with an innovative, powerful and progressive 3 Pump hydraulic system, known as VIPPS, fitted with;
This technology is unique to the Yanmar brand, with the hydraulic circuitry design and load sensing pumps offering increased performance when utilising the boom, arm bucket and swing features.
Key aspects to this improved performance include stability and lifting capacity.
As well as improved productivity and performance the VIPPS system offers users the ability to increase working speed, due to the cumulative capacity of the pumps, whilst also providing smooth and simultaneous operation of all the excavators’ features, even when travelling.
The below video, shows two machines equipped with VIPPS, the ViO80 and ViO50 working the demo area of a past show. Both of these machines are using VIPPS to their advantage, giving them the edge over rivals. The 8 tonne, ViO80 you will see is fitted with a Steelwrist tilt rotator, an option offered by Yanmar and A&Y.
Our AMB hydraulic hammers have been produced in order to meet the most demanding demolition tasks, whilst still providing customers with a genuine value for money choice.
The AMB breakers now offer more power than ever before, as well as increased durability levels. Features include:
All the breakers in the range are more eco-freindly, complying to international sound standards, meaning they can be used in noise sensitive areas and sites.
Back head gas, accumulator gas and pressure adjustment setting can be adjusted via a single maintenance window located at the front of the breaker.
The accumulator can be maintained without disassembling the mounting adapter and box bracket.
Our breakers are supplied in a complete box with all the required accessories (if purchasing alongside a Yanmar excavator than it can be pre mounted) Inside the box you will find: breaker, hoses, charging kit, workshop manual, gas canister, point and chisel.
The below table shows you which breaker model is suited to the size (in tonnes) of carrier it will be mounted to, along with the weight of breaker, pressure, flow, impact rate and diameter of the chisel.
Lubricants, particularly oil are becoming more and more important in plant machinery. Using the wrong type of oil can prove to be a very costly mistake, especially on the latest, more technically advanced engines, for example the new Stage V ready Yanmar engines require a low ash, CJ4 oil, with the hydraulic system taking a High Viscosity Multigrade Hydraulic oil.
Here at A&Y we offer our own oil, specially manufactured with the needs of the Ammann, Yanmar and Cormidi machines, as well as all machines running Yanmar engines, at the forefront of our thinking.
These oils have proved to be very popular since we introduced them earlier this year, with yesterday another large delivery arriving.
Not only are these lubricants very competitively priced, we also offer a FREE DELIVERY service within the UK mainland.
6 varieties are available for purchase in 3 different sizes, 5 litres, 25 litres and 205 litre drums. You can view the full list and find out key details of each type by viewing the dedicated A&Y oils page:
To purchase the Oil or to find out what your requirements are then please give our dedicated parts team a call on 01789 208924
Alternatively you can take a look at our A&Y Ebay parts store, here you will find our oils and service kits that are currently in stock, as well as a selection of other popular parts.
It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to oils, cutting corners and costs will lead to problems.
Ammann's forward moving plates, the APF range are ideally suited to compacting soil, gravel, paving stones and asphalt. They are very popular machines in the landscaping and road constructing sectors with many hire companies choosing the Ammann plates.
As these plate compactors only travel forward they house Ammann's cylindrical bearings, which they state gives these plates the most reliable vibration system on the market.
The APF 1033 is the lightest and smallest of all Ammann Vibratory Plate Compactors, weighing just 54kg. Its size makes it ideally suited to small jobsites and confined areas, like all Ammann plates they are easy to operate and manoeuvre, making them a popular choice for rental fleets.
This forward-moving plate compactor is often utilised by landscape contractors to reach hard to access spots. Homeowners also use the APF 1033 because of its manageable size and weight. With a foldable and easily removable handle this plate is easy to be transported, even in the boot of a passenger car.
A powerful Honda engine give the 1033 a high compaction output, added with the ability to continually adjust the vibration frequency up the maximum output of 100 hertz.
The APF1033 is often used for smaller asphalt jobs such as resurfacing driveways as well as when laying paving stones. To aid these jobs an optional 5 litre water sprinkler system is available.
The slightly larger APF1240 weighs in at 69kg, this plate is often used for asphalt jobs with its optional wheel kit and 10 litre water tank. When work on paving stones is being completed a vulcolan mat can be bolted on to further protect the surface and leave it mark free.
Further optional extras include low vibration handles and wheel kits on the 1240 and above. Offering best access to the engine, tool free daily maintenance and a well protected v-belt, as well as the high compaction outputs. It's not hard to see why these plates are consistently popular.
