Yanmar have recently launched another new product at German Construction show NordBau.
The SV100 2-Piece Boom (SV100 2PB) is a high performance 10 ton excavator with an articulated boom. High performance, unique design and ease of operation are the key characteristics of this new Yanmar Excavator. The articulated boom configuration drastically enhances the performance of the SV100, particularly when lifting, moving and placing loads.
Originating from heavy wheeled excavators, the added articulation of the boom improves the maneuverability of the machine and its ability to place loads with precision. The additional weight resulting from the articulated boom configuration has been limited to 845 kilos including the additional counterweight. It contributes to improving the machine’s lifting capacity by up to 45 per cent in some areas of the load chart.
Yanmar decided to reversely mount the cylinder of the boom articulation. Combined with high working pressure of the SV100 2PB, this furnishes the machine with outstanding break-out force. The orientation of the boom articulation cylinder also enables the operator to raise the boom faster and to lower it more slowly - optimal for positioning of loads. The Yanmar product development decided for a unique solution: The SV100 2PB is fitted with a single top mounted boom articulation cylinder. This configuration guarantees a total protection of the cylinder rod thus reducing the risk of damages. The machine’s maintenance has also been facilitated with reducing the number of greasing points by 50 per cent.
All of this results in a reduction of the total cost of ownership (TCO) of about 50 per cent.
Furthermore, the use of a single top mounted articulation cylinder enables to reduce the machine’s dead weight by 50 per cent, thus improving the stability of the SV100 2PB. The very sleek structure of the boom provides the operator with good visibility – actually, with the best of its class in the market. In order to improve the operator’s comfort and the maneuverability of the articulated boom, Yanmar decided to put the control for the articulation on the left joystick with a proportional switch. This also contributes to increasing safety with the help of very precise control.
With a combination of heavy duty design and the latest engine technology incorporating EU Stage IIIb limits, the new ASC rollers are the most technically advanced compaction machines. The concept of the propulsion system and all its functional parts are proven by decades of operation in the hardest conditions. The design of the machine is robust and rigid, and provides the best reliability and durability.
As well as the standard features shown above the ASC range has many optional extras. To find out more about these or any further information on the range then please contact us:
Ammann has earned three coveted Red Dot Awards for outstanding product design. The awards are considered Europe’s highest design honours.
“We are honoured by the awards,” said Hans-Christian Schneider, CEO of Ammann Group. “Our customers know there is a great deal of thought and effort behind each and every Ammann product. These awards are further proof of that.”
Ammann won Red Dot Awards for the Ammann APH 110-95, a three-shaft hydrostatic vibratory plate compactor; the Ammann Rammax 1575 Trench Roller; and the Ammann ARX 90 Articulated Tandem Roller.
“The ARX 90 is logically designed from an ergonomic viewpoint and at the same time displays a distinctive, independent appearance,” Red Dot wrote in its jury statement.
Regarding the trench roller, the jury commented: “With its functional, compact and robust form, the Rammax 1575 imparts the impression of strength and reliability.”
The APH 110-95 earned praise as well. “A high level of functionality and performance characterises this high-performance compactor, which attracts attention due to its distinctive lines,” the jury stated.
An international jury of 38 design professionals from 25 countries evaluated the products and chose winners from among nearly 5,000 entries. The jury only awards the sought-after seal of quality to products that set themselves apart significantly through exceptional design. The Red Dot Award is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

To complement Yanmar's mini-excavator series we offer a range of tracked carriers.
These dumpers are used to carry material, on a variety of terrains. Equipped with tracks and a strong lower carriage, they are particularly suitable for working on soft, uneven or sensitive land.
Our carriers are fitted with a rear skip, except for the smallest model in the range, the C12R-A, which has a dumper skip on 3 sides. The C50R-3 is also available with swivel skip which rotates up to 180° (C50R-3 TV).
The C30R with a width of 1655mm and length of 3200mm is the mid sized Yanmar carrier and has many benefits as show below. For more information on all models have a look at our specific Yanmar Tracked Carrier Page
Ammann have provided a series of instructional Service Videos that guide the user through the steps it takes to perform different service operations.
For example this following link shows how to change the rammerfoot on a ACR60/68 Rammer

The full list of videos available is found under the Service heading above.
In time more of these videos will be produced and uploaded, which according to A&Y's Service Manager Jason Redgrave can only be a good thing.

The ACA add-on compactor series are easy to fit to any excavator boom in seconds thanks to a hydraulic quick coupling system. These compactors are commonly used in fields such as; landfill construction, pipeline construction, embankment compaction and work in narrow spaces.
One of the main advantages of the Ammann ACA range and a feature that sets it apart from the competition is the versatility of the compactor. The self-locking mechanical rotation allows the compactor to move using an innovative teeth design meaning it can work at any angle and fit into any gap without constantly moving the excavator. For example working around a manhole cover can be done without re positioning the excavator.
As well as this a number of other benefits are highlighted below
Between now and the end of the year we are running a promotion on genuine Yanmar Filters throughout the UK & Ireland.
