This weekend see's the 11th race of the 2017 Formula One World Championships.
The race, which will be staged on the Hungaroring circuit on the outskirts of Budapest, has always been considered one of the most demanding by spectators and drivers, due to the extremely hot conditions during the race weekend and the succession of twists and turns with few places for overtaking that test the cars and drivers to the limit. The challenge is further compounded by the circuit’s dusty surrounds and lack of general use throughout the year, which have contributed to the circuit’s notorious reputation following numerous accidents in recent years. Thankfully, most of the mishaps were spectacular but not too serious for the drivers.
For those of you watching make sure to keep an eye out for the Dieci telehandlers that will be working across the site, from aiding in setup right through to recovery of the F1 cars should any problem arise. These machine are provided by Dieci's Hungarian dealer and won't be the first time this year there has been yellow and black power on the F1 calendar.
12 machines (including ten Zeus 37.7s and two Dedalus 30.7s) were sent to Sochi, complete with a new two-tone livery specifically designed for the mission, which was no less spectacular than the multicoloured styling of the Formula 1 cars. During the race there was an unfortunate collision, in the space of a few minutes, the Zeus 37.7 machine positioned in the escape route, at the exit of the corner, hitched up and carried off the two cars, while marshals removed dangerous fragments from the track.
If the Dieci telehandlers are good enough for the F1 are they good enough for you? We certainly think so and you can see more detail on our Dieci machines by visiting our web section by clicking HERE
Despite being one of our most popular models, the Yanmar SV26 has recently gone through some improvements. Making this 2.6 tonne excavator more productive and user friendly.
The main change is seen in the tracks. As well as having a new design and more grip, they have increased in width from 250mm to 300mm. As well as improving manoeuvrability, these new tracks will also last longer. With 15% less ground pressure, wear will reduce as well as the potential for damages to the ground. The blade has also been widened to accommodate the wider tracks, as well as full ram guard protection on the bucket, dipper and arm cylinders.
One customer who runs a number of SV26’s told us that the wider tracks have really enhanced the machine. “Not only is tracking and stability better but the SV26 overall looks a more impressive machine. Our operators have noticed how work times are decreasing already. Well done Yanmar.”
Finally SV26 users will now find a reduction in cycle times and an upgrade in comfort due to automatic second speed now being fitted as standard. This means the speed is automatically determined by the required traction effort. Although users can still lock the machine in first speed via the switch on the blade lever.

This week we have seen a number of Ammann ARR 1585 trench rollers going through the workshop and heading out to join a large rental fleet.
Ammann invented the trench roller product more than 40 years ago, and benchmarks have always been set to improve efficiency. Today, Ammann is able to offer both articulated (ARR 1575) and skid-steered machines (ARR 1585), both controlled by extremely safe remote contols, which cut out if the operator is too close (<2m) or far away (>24m) from the machine.
Trench rollers, also called multipurpose compactors, perform well in cohesive soil types, such as clays, that can be very difficult to compact. The ARR 1585 is able to overcome the high moisture content in clay through its extreme compaction energy and the kneading effect of the padfoot drums. Its rigid frame also helps it focus on particularly challenging areas.
What sets the new ARR 1585 apart from the competition?
The rigid frame
The rigid frame, also referred to as a skid-steer concept, provides extreme manoeuvrability. In fact, the machine can turn 360º in place. That means it also can “hover” and focus all its compaction force on a single area.
The quiet, powerful and fuel-efficient Hatz engine meets Tier 4 Final standards.
The skid-steer concept provides great manoeuverability. Other user-friendly features include; intuitive manual control and simple machine layout, a central lifting hook makes it easy to place the machine where needed, two drum widths of 630 mm and 850 mm are available.
Unique compaction output
The rigid frame and padfoot drum are unique to the market. The effective vibratory system features a low centre of gravity that ensures the vibration reaches its target.
Easy access to service points
The hood opens wide to help crew members and technicians reach the desired service points and components. There are no lubrication points or V belts to maintain
We became the UK importer for the construction models in the Dieci lines last month, since then we have seen much interest in the telehandlers, right from the smallest, most mobile machines all the way up to the long reach, 360° rotating Pegasus line.
Our Dieci website section has now been populated with information on each of the machine ranges. On each individual page you will find; a brief introduction into the machines, some key specs and the range brochure, which is available to be downloaded.
Clicking on the below image will take you to our Deici homepage, where you can then select which particular model to see more information on. Alternatively this can be accessed via the New Sales section of the website.
This week alone we have sold and also delivered a number of Yanmar zero tail swing (ViO) excavators. These machines have included the smallest model, the ViO12 right up to 8 tonne ViO80's.
Yanmar pride themselves in their innovation when it comes to zero tail swing machines, with the range beginning back in 1995 when they brought the first ViO50 to the market. The current generation of zero tail swing excavators is Yanmar's 6th, showing their knowledge and expertise in this area and the ability to improve each time.
Having spoken to recent customers the following are just some of the reasons people have chosen ViO machines:
Ammann has released a new line of technologically advanced APF, forward travel plate compactors. These plates provide industry leading compaction output, manoeuvrability, travel speed and climbing ability. They have also had much work done to reduce unwanted vibration to operators.
The new models are the Ammann APF 12/33, APF 15/40, APF 15/50, and APF 20/50. The product line is the lightest of all the Ammann plate compactors, with weights ranging from 69kg to 107 kg and widths from 330 mm to 500 mm. The current APF1033, which weighs 54kg and is a consistent best seller will be remaining in the APF range.
These plates fit a broad range of applications, such as gardening, landscaping and road works. With an optional water sprinkler, vulkollan mat and transport wheel kit, the machine are also suitable for asphalt applications and the laying of paving stones.
The APF line is powered by reliable and efficient Honda petrol engines. The largest 20/50 is available with a Honda petrol or Hatz diesel engine.
On top of the additional features, each plate boasts; a frame protecting all of the crucial components, a wear plate designed to last and a maintenance free exciter system. A main feature is the new Z-buffer inserted into the handles. This patented system enables precise machine control whilst protecting the operator from vibration, levels are now below 2.5 m/sec2. These low HAV levels allow for longer work shifts without a health risk or the need for documentation.
All of these new Ammann plates will be available throughout the UK and Ireland via A&Y Equipment Ltd, the Ammann, Yanmar, Dieci and Cormidi importers.

The ARX series from Ammann contains 13 different models in weight categories from 1.5 to 4.6 tonnes, with working widths from 820 to 1380mm.
These tandem vibratory rollers are tailor made for assignments on smaller and medium sized sites, being particularly well suited for garden construction, landscaping road building and laying.
All models have an optimum design with regards to use and economic efficiency. A new hydraulic concept coupled with the latest Yanmar diesel engine technology enables Ammann to gain a significant increase in efficiency. It allows the diesel engine to run at a much lower speed, effectively reducing consumption and noise emission.
As well as the tandem design the ARX range also offers 5 combination models, ARX 16K, 23K, 26K, 40K and 45K. These rollers have an in built anti adhesive tank containing a direct sprinkler system to the tyres. This allows for optimum water supply on every asphalt job.
Other benefits that make these rollers a popular choice include:
Based in Saint Dizier, France Yanmar have a fully operational production plant and research facility, which over the past 10 years has greatly benefited from investment.
This facility is constantly being modernised and improved as Yanmar react to market trends and changes in the way construction machinery is manufactured.
Yanmar also have an impressive European parts warehouses which uses the latest technology to pick from the vast array of parts stored. More recently a digging/demo area has been added, allowing visitors that all important 'stick time' behind the controls.
The below video will give you an insight into this facility and the way it works.
