Ammann have produced a new light compaction range overview brochure.
This highlights some background information on the machine, specifications, a number of features and benefits, as well as the usual jobsites you find the respective pieces of equipment.

This week national plant hire company Selwood have added more products to their ever growing fleet of Ammann and Yanmar machinery.
Selwood's have a network of regional branches across England and Wales and are "proud to deliver exceptional customer service and plant hire solutions."
So far this year, as has been previously documented A&Y have supplied a number of machines to Selwood. Including; 1 and a half tonne, zero tail swing ViO17's, Ammann 80cm ARX12 tandem rollers and the SV26 a powerful and compact mini excavator.
In fact those of you that visited the recent Hillhead show may have seen an SV26 due for Selwood on the stand. These machines always come with a high spec, keypad immobilisers, check valves and hydraulic quick hitches for example.
We currently have some Yanmar ViO50's being prepared for delivery this week. These 5 tonne zero tail swing excavators will join the current fleet of ViO50's showing Selwood's commitment and happiness with the Yanmar machines.
Below is some images of what has gone out this year already, with many more to come!
You may have seen this week on Twitter (@AandYgroup) that our Yanmar dealer for Oxfordshire, Farol LTD has sold an SV18. This is in addition to the recent popularity of this compact mini excavator north of the border in Scotland.
The machine weighs 1975kg and comes complete with Yanmar's reliable variable undercarriage, allowing the machines to move between 980 and 1320 mm wide. It is commonly used for jobs such as; agriculture, pipe laying, general construction and landscaping. It is also a popular choice for rental hire firms.
There are many reasons why the SV18 is a good option for companies working in these sectors, here we will outline a select few of the main ones. If you would like any further information on this or any of the other machines we offer then please contact our head office on 01789 414525.
- The SV18 has an LCD display screen which gives the operator real status updates of the machine. This allows you to manage working time, daily maintenance operations and to program interventions. It provides useful information on the operation of the machine, such as engine oil and coolant temperatures, as well as current fuel levels. You can also see when the machine is in second speed tracking mode, which incidentally is easily changed using a button situated on the blade control lever.
- A reduced tail overhand has meant the SV18 is now more compact, making transportation easier. The machine will easily fit on a trailer including buckets and hydraulic breaker. 4 anchor points across the undercarriage and blade allow for safe tie down.
- Equipped with a new-generation Yanmar TNV (Totally New Value) engine to reduce noise and polluting emissions but also to improve starting (it warms up faster), the engine meets emissions standards of the European Commission (EC) for an eco-friendly and cost-effective machine that surpasses the previous TNE series.
- The hydraulic circuit of the SV18 gives the operator excellent performance and control of accessories, regardless of the flow rate or load. This is due to the variable flow pump and load sensing flow circuit and a dual action auxiliary circuit . The auxiliary line is controlled proportionally using the right hand joystick and allows for smooth control of accessories such as augers or breakers.
Ammann Rammers feature the best forward-movement in the industry, helping contractors in all applications work productively and ultimately achieve compaction targets. The forward-moving ability makes them the tool of choice for many contractors and rental agencies.
The rammers also are so easy to use that operators of all experience levels are able to perform productively. They are more comfortable, too, because of the reduced-vibration handle. That lessens fatigue and ultimately proves to be another productivity booster.
The Ammann rammers are commonly found working in fields such as: trench compaction, patch work on roads, back filling, foundation work. In short any job which requires compaction work in tight spaces.
A low centre of gravity gives the machine outstanding forward moving abilities that aid operation. The operator can also guide the Ammann machine better than others on the market due to work done to improve the balance and prevent tipping.
The handle - A reduced-vibration handle prevents operator fatigue. In addition, the handle can be gripped from all sides, enabling easy access to tight spaces. The operator can turn the machine 180 degrees to reach tight areas while maintaining optimal control of the rammer at all times.
The Height - A patented process enables rammer height to be easily adjusted, a significant benefit as the operator attempts to maximise manoeuvrability and comfort throughout the shift.
The shoe - Varied shoe shapes and sizes, including an asymmetric shoe for trench work, help match the rammer to your application. The shoes are easy to switch, too; all that’s required is the removal of four screws.

Yanmar have recently released a brand new version of the B7 Sigma machine. You may remember this machine as being the 8 tonne excavator with the innovative triple offset boom, allowing for work along several trenches without moving the machine. This version was pride of place on our Plantworx 2015 stand as well as runner up in the Innovation Awards at the Demolition Expo 2015.
The new version the B7 Sigma-6 keeps the principles of the old machine but has had an overhaul to make it more suited to the UK market, we really think it's a great machine!
Whats remained the same?

Always a big selling point for our Yanmar construction equipment is the Yanmar engine found inside.
Yanmar provide engines for a wide variety of applications and are experts in this field with well over 100 years experience.
The following video will show in more depth the detail in these engines and how they are beneficial to your plant workforce
LKV, a German company with expertise in specialist groundswork, have reported how the Ammann add on plate compactor ACA2030 cut their work time in half.
This was during a recent job, where hundreds of pylons were installed for drainage channel construction.
The embankment required installation of 3-4 wooden pylons per metre for distance of up to 500 metres. The posts ultimately providing stabilasation for the drainage channels.
The compactor was productive because of it's vertical downward striking impact. Powered by its 2-shaft technology and directional oscillator, the pylons were held in an upright position and simply compacted until they reached the required depth.
Johann Pfluger of LKV told us "This type of work previously required pre-drilling of the holes and then pushing in the pylon with an excavator. Using the ACA2030 this took less than a minute per pylon, it took twice as long before."
The cost-savings was considerable, as were safety gains. “Some of the pylons could not be fully inserted with the previous method,” Pflüger said. “They had to be cut to size by hand using a chainsaw. With this compactor, the pylon went as far as it needed.”
Now that the dust has (quite literally) settled after a busy week at Hillhead 2016 we can report it was our most successful show to date.
We welcomed many visitors, combined with new and old faces to our stand, receiving numerous comments of praise on the setup throughout the three days.
Our centrally located stand brought together both Yanmar and Ammann products working from the smaller machines in the centre out towards the largest 8 ton, ViO80 excavator and single drum ASC130 roller on either edge.

This year the machines we displayed were all stickered up to the companies that had already purchased them, which included some of the biggest hire firms in the North west of England.
Included in this was a highly spec'd SV26 complete with hydraulic quick hitch and anti theft systems. This machine had a lot of interest in it as it's seen to be one of the most powerful and reliable excavators in the 2.5 tonne range.
Our Ammann Rammax RW1575 trench roller was positioned to show of its articulating joint and also its oscillating drums. Showing prospective owners how the drums stay in contact with the ground even over uneven surfaces.
A good way to judge the successfulness of a show is seeing what machines come back to base at the end of it. This year we sold the ASC130 off the stand to a large hire company that already run our ARX tandem rollers plus the SV100 2 piece boom machine, located with Steelwrist at the show has been sold by Oxfordshire based dealers Farol LTD.
This sale is the first one of this innovative new machine into the UK & Ireland and we will be doing further publicity into this sale soon.
So despite the weather once again the Hillhead show was a popular one, a big thanks to everyone who organised the event and to our suppliers and customers who helped make the A&Y stand a popular and varied place.
